Colin Owens

Visiting Professor of Design, Dynamic Media Institute

Colin Owens is the founder and mastermind behind ShapeMix, a patent-pending music mixing application that puts the technical capabilities of a music studio into an intuitive mobile application. Owned by Legion Enterprises and set to launch in Fall 2010 as an iPad app, ShapeMix democratizes the music mixing creative process by enabling aspiring DJs, musicians, and fans alike to remix, create and share original and remixed works with friends.  read more »

Pol Pla i Conesa

Visiting Professor of Design, Dynamic Media Institute

Pol Pla i Conesa is a graduate research assistant at the MIT Media Lab. He graduated from Universitat Ramon Llull (Barcelona) in Computer Science in 2008 and he earned a Masters in Cognitive Science from Pompeu Fabra University (Barcelona) in 2010. He cofounded Multitouch Barcelona; an interactive design group were he developed projects like the Multitouch Space Invaders and the HI Human Interface.

Mara Sanadi Wagner, Psy.D, Cert. Psya.

Visiting Professor, Dynamic Media Institute

Mara Wagner is a consulting psychoanalyst on the core faculty of the Boston Graduate School of Psychoanalysis. She teaches a range of courses exploring the psychoanalytic underpinnings of the creative process—dreaming, image-making, and unconscious fantasy—which have application to the design process. As founder of Gallery 1581, housed in the graduate school, she sponsors exhibits and lectures which provide a forum for discussion between artists and psychoanalysts.

Heather Shaw

Visiting Professor of Design, Dynamic Media Institute

Heather Shaw is an Assistant Professor of Graphic Design at Curry College. Prior to teaching at Curry, she was a full-time lecturer at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth for both the Design and Digital Media departments. Heather sits on the Board of Advisors for the Dynamic Media Institute, and serves as a thesis advisor and thesis writing advisor. Her scholarship involves lecturing nationally and internationally on the integration of dynamic media with traditional graphic design pedagogy.  read more »
